Finally, the prepositional phrase parektos tōn desmōn toutōn {παρεκτὸς τῶν δεσμῶν τούτων | parektós tō̂n desmῶν toútōn} introduces an exception, explicitly excluding Paul’s chains from the desired likeness. Both reconstructions preserve the optative’s prayer nuance and the merism’s contrast.
