The dative phrase tō kybernete kai tō nauklero {τῷ κυβερνήτῃ καὶ τῷ ναυκλήρῳ | tō kybernéte kai tō naukléro} ‘to the pilot and to the shipowner’ marks the persons toward whom the persuasion is directed.
