Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Daniel 11:21:1 ⧉וְעָמַ֤דveamadand will arise Daniel 11:21:2 ⧉עַל־כַּנּוֹ֙alkannoin his place Daniel 11:21:3 ⧉נִבְזֶ֔הnivzedespised one Daniel 11:21:4 ⧉וְלֹא־נָתְנ֥וּvehlohnatenuand did not grant Daniel 11:21:5 ⧉עָלָ֖יוalavto him Daniel 11:21:6 ⧉ה֣וֹדhodglory Daniel 11:21:7 ⧉מַלְכ֑וּתmalkhutof kingship Daniel 11:21:8 ⧉וּבָ֣אuvaand will come Daniel 11:21:9 ⧉בְשַׁלְוָ֔הveshalvapeacefully Daniel 11:21:10 ⧉וְהֶחֱזִ֥יקvehekhezeekand will seize Daniel 11:21:11 ⧉מַלְכ֖וּתmalkhutkingdom Daniel 11:21:12 ⧉בַּחֲלַקְלַקּֽוֹת׃bakhalaklakotby flattery |
21. Formal Translation And a despised one shall stand in his place, and they will not grant him the majesty of the kingdom; but he will come in tranquility and seize the kingdom by flatteries. |
21. Dynamic Translation A contemptible person will assume his appointed position, and they will not give him the honor of the kingdom. He will arrive with calm assurance and secure control of the realm through cunning persuasion. |
