Exegesis

The final clause, umineh {וּמִנְהּ | û-min-neh} “and from it” with yitszin {יִתְּזִין | yit-zîn} “is fed” and kol-bisra {כָּל־בִשְׂרָא | kol-bis-rāʾ} “all flesh,” uses an Ithpaal (passive-reflexive) form to stress that every living creature receives sustenance from this single source. Throughout, repeated third masculine singular suffixes (-eh / -hî) on opyeho, veinbeh, lekholla-beh, tehotohi, uveanpohi, and umineh bind all benefits—beauty, fruit, shade, and food—back to the same great tree. In translation, English finite verbs (“was,” “were shaded,” “dwelt,” “was fed”) and standard subject–verb–object order make explicit what the Aramaic conveys through nominal clauses and verbal aspect, while preserving the progression from appearance, to provision, to universal shelter and nourishment.
