Daniel’s reply repeats the answer-say pattern, addresses the king with mari {מָרִי | mā-rî} ‘my lord’, and uses the optative clause helma lesanʾakh upishreh leʿarakh {חֶלְמָא לְשָׂנְאָךְ וּפִשְׁרֵהּ לְעָרָךְ | ḥel-mā lᵉ-śān-ʾāḵ û-piš-rēh lᵉ-ʿā-rāḵ} “may the dream be for those who hate you and its interpretation for your adversaries.”
