23. Formal Translation And that the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from heaven, and he said, “Hew down the tree and destroy it, yet leave the stump with its roots in the earth, with a band of iron and bronze in the tender grass of the field, and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let its portion be with the beasts of the field, until seven times pass over him.” |

Dynamic Translation You saw a watcher, a holy heavenly messenger, coming down from heaven, and he said, “Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump with its roots in the ground, surrounded by a band of iron and bronze in the grass of the field. Let it be drenched with the dew of heaven; let it share the field with the wild animals, until seven times have passed over him.” |
