He says it serves as the royal seat of his rule.

Acknowledge God's help and keep the achievement in perspective

Highlight your role so people know you earned it

Stay silent and hope others assume it all happened on its own

Use the success as proof that you deserve more admiration

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit my pride and my sin. I have tried to build my life on my own, and I need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from self-rule and confess you as Lord. Forgive me, make me new, and lead my life from this day forward. Amen.

Give Up the Pride

Lord, revive your Church where we have taken credit for what you have done. Break our pride, strip away our love of praise, and teach us to build for your kingdom rather than our own names. Make us a people who give you the glory in all things, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Humble Your Church Again

Bring these to God: the places where you have wanted applause; the work or success you have quietly claimed as your own; the fear that fuels self-promotion.

Bringing Pride Into the Light

Pray by naming one thing you have built, led, or achieved, then thank God for the strength, opportunities, and help that made it possible. Ask him to keep your heart thankful instead of proud.

Thank God for What Was Gifted

Father, when I succeed, keep me from boasting. Let me remember that every gift, skill, and opportunity comes from you. Teach me to speak with humility and to value your glory above my own, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Give Me a Humble Spirit

Pray for leaders, builders, and gifted people: that they would use their work to serve others, resist self-importance, and point praise toward God rather than themselves.
