Exegesis
The prepositional phrase wəʿim ḥêwāṯ bārāʾ {וְעִם־חֵיוָת בָּרָא | wə-ʿim ḥê-wāṯ bā-rāʾ} ‘and with the beasts of the field’ replaces human companionship with animal association, deepening the humiliation.
In context — Daniel 4:32
And from among men they will drive you, and your dwelling will be with the beasts of the field, and they will make you eat grass like oxen, and seven times will pass over you, until you know that the Most High is ruler in the kingdom of mankind and that He gives it to whomever He wills.
