He is seen as having a divine spirit within him.

Mysteries are easy for him because of his rank.

Keep it private so no one can ask for help

Use insight mainly to gain status as the smartest person

Answer with vague language so nobody can test you

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and tried to live by my own understanding. I need your mercy and your truth. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me, lead me, and be my Lord. Come into my life and give me the new heart I need. Amen.

Receive the Lord Who Gives Understanding

Lord, revive your church. Where we have spoken proudly, make us humble; where we have been confused, make us teachable; where people around us need help, make us ready to listen, discern, and speak clearly. Fill your people with your Spirit so we can serve others well and point them to you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to Carry Wisdom

Take one hard question you are facing, and pray over it by name. Ask God for a quiet heart, clear understanding, and the right words to say; then ask him to show you whether you need to speak, wait, or ask for help.

Pray Before You Answer

Give thanks for people God uses to bring clarity in confusing seasons, and for any insight, counsel, or understanding he has given you. Thank him that his care can reach you through faithful people.

Thank God for Wise Helpers

Pray for pastors, teachers, mentors, counselors, and friends who help others through hard questions. Ask God to give them humility, discernment, patience, and clear words that serve rather than impress.

Pray for Teachers and Counselors

Father, make me quick to listen, slow to boast, and ready to use any insight you give for the good of others. Train me to speak with wisdom and humility, and to help rather than confuse. Lead me in this, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
