Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Daniel 8:7:1 ⧉וּרְאִיתִ֞יוooreheeteev{And} I saw him Daniel 8:7:2 ⧉מַגִּ֣יעַmagiaapproaching Daniel 8:7:3 ⧉אֵ֣צֶלetselnear Daniel 8:7:4 ⧉הָאַ֗יְלhaaylthe ram Daniel 8:7:5 ⧉וַיִּתְמַרְמַ֤רvayitmarmar{And} he was enraged Daniel 8:7:6 ⧉אֵלָיו֙elavagainst him Daniel 8:7:7 ⧉וַיַּ֣ךְvayakh{And} he struck Daniel 8:7:8 ⧉אֶת־הָאַ֗יִלethaaylthe ram Daniel 8:7:9 ⧉וַיְשַׁבֵּר֙vayeshaber{And} he broke Daniel 8:7:10 ⧉אֶת־שְׁתֵּ֣יetshtetwo Daniel 8:7:11 ⧉קְרָנָ֔יוkehranavhis horns Daniel 8:7:12 ⧉וְלֹא־הָ֥יָהvelohaya{And} there was not Daniel 8:7:13 ⧉כֹ֛חַkoakhstrength Daniel 8:7:14 ⧉בָּאַ֖יִלbaaylin the ram Daniel 8:7:15 ⧉לַעֲמֹ֣דlaamodto stand Daniel 8:7:16 ⧉לְפָנָ֑יוlefanavbefore him Daniel 8:7:17 ⧉וַיַּשְׁלִיכֵ֤הוּvayashlikhehu{And} he threw him Daniel 8:7:18 ⧉אַ֙רְצָה֙artsato the ground Daniel 8:7:19 ⧉וַֽיִּרְמְסֵ֔הוּvayirmesehu{And} he trampled him Daniel 8:7:20 ⧉וְלֹא־הָיָ֥הvelohaya{And} there was not Daniel 8:7:21 ⧉מַצִּ֛ילmatsilrescuer Daniel 8:7:22 ⧉לָאַ֖יִלlaaylfor the ram Daniel 8:7:23 ⧉מִיָּדֽוֹ׃miyadofrom his hand |
7. Formal Translation And I saw him coming near to the ram, and he was enraged toward him and struck the ram and broke its two horns. And there was no strength in the ram to stand before him, so he threw him to the ground and trampled him, and there was no deliverer for the ram from his hand. |
7. Dynamic Translation I watched as he came up beside the ram and, full of rage, struck the ram and shattered its two horns. The ram was powerless to resist and was cast down to the ground and trampled, and no one could rescue it from his hand. |
