19. Formal Translation Then we set out from Horeb and traversed that vast and terrifying wilderness you had seen along the route to the hill country of the Amorites, just as the LORD our God {Yahweh Eloheinu, Covenant Commander} ordered us; and we arrived at Kadesh Barnea. |
19. Dynamic Translation We left Horeb and crossed that huge and fearsome wilderness you had witnessed on the path toward the Amorite highlands, exactly as the LORD our God {Yahweh Eloheinu, Divine Leader} instructed us, and then we arrived at Kadesh Barnea. |
