21. Formal Translation
You must not eat any carcass; you may give it to the sojourner in your gates, and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. For you are a people set apart to the LORD your God {Yahweh Eloheikha, Covenant Protector}. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.
21. Dynamic Translation
Do not eat any animal that died on its own; you may give it to a resident outsider in your towns so that they may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. You belong to the LORD your God {Yahweh Eloheikha, Sanctifying Lord} as His holy people. Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.
