| 20. Formal Translation In order that his heart not be lifted above his brothers, and that he not deviate from the commandment to the right or to the left, thereby extending his days over his kingdom—he and his sons—within Israel. |
| 20. Dynamic Translation This is designed to keep his heart humble so that he does not lift himself above his fellow Israelites or stray from the command to the right or the left; in this way he and his children will enjoy a long reign over his realm among the people of Israel. |
