Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Deuteronomy 20:11:1 ⧉וְהָיָה֙vehayaand it will be Deuteronomy 20:11:2 ⧉אִם־שָׁל֣וֹםimshalomif peace Deuteronomy 20:11:3 ⧉תַּֽעַנְךָ֔taankhait answers you Deuteronomy 20:11:4 ⧉וּפָתְחָ֖הufatkhaand it opens Deuteronomy 20:11:5 ⧉לָ֑ךְlakhto you Deuteronomy 20:11:6 ⧉וְהָיָ֞הvehayathen it will be Deuteronomy 20:11:7 ⧉כָּל־הָעָ֣םkolhaamall the people Deuteronomy 20:11:8 ⧉הַנִּמְצָא־בָ֗הּhanimtsahbahwho are found in it Deuteronomy 20:11:9 ⧉יִהְי֥וּyihyushall be Deuteronomy 20:11:10 ⧉לְךָ֛lekhafor you Deuteronomy 20:11:11 ⧉לָמַ֖סlamasfor tribute Deuteronomy 20:11:12 ⧉וַעֲבָדֽוּךָ׃vaavadukhaand they shall serve you |
| 11. Formal Translation If it answers you with peace and opens to you, then all the people found in it shall become your forced labor and shall serve you. |
| 11. Dynamic Translation If the city responds in peace and opens to you, then all who are found there will become forced laborers and serve you. |
