| 16. Formal Translation And it shall be on the day that he causes his sons to inherit what belongs to him, he shall not be able to treat as firstborn the son of his beloved wife in preference to the son of his unloved wife, the firstborn. |
| 16. Dynamic Translation When a man gives his estate to his sons, he must not give the rights of the firstborn to the son of his favorite wife instead of his actual firstborn, the son of his less loved wife. |
