| 23. Formal Translation You shall not leave his corpse overnight upon the tree, but you must surely bury him that same day, for the one who is hanged is cursed by God{Elohim, Supreme Judge}; and you shall not defile your land which the LORD your God{Yahweh Eloheicha, Covenant Land-Giver} is giving you as an inheritance. |
| 23. Dynamic Translation Do not let the dead body stay hanging on the tree all night; be sure to bury it that very day, because anyone who is hanged is under God’s{Elohim, Divine Authority} curse. Do not make your land unclean—the LORD your God{Yahweh Eloheicha, Gift-Giver} is giving it to you as a permanent inheritance. |
