| 5. Formal Translation When a man takes a new wife, he must not go out with the army nor have any duty imposed upon him; he shall be free in his household for one year, and he shall gladden his wife whom he has taken. |
| 5. Dynamic Translation If a man marries a new wife, he should not be sent out or assigned any responsibilities; for one year he is to remain free at home and delight his wife whom he has married. |
