42. Formal Translation
The manslayer may flee there when he kills his neighbor without knowledge and had not hated him in former days; and he shall flee to one of these cities and live.
42. Dynamic Translation
Anyone who accidentally kills his neighbor without hatred beforehand can flee there as a manslayer to one of these cities and live.
