15. Formal Translation And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God {Yahweh Elohekha, Redeemer} brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm. Therefore, the LORD your God has commanded you to keep the Sabbath day. |
15. Dynamic Translation Remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and the LORD your God {Yahweh Elohekha, Liberating Rescuer} brought you out of there with great power and a strong arm. That is why the LORD your God told you to set apart the Sabbath day. |
