17. Formal Translation When the queen’s deed is proclaimed to all women, they will despise their husbands in their sight when it is reported, “King Ahasuerus ordered Queen Vashti the queen to be brought before him, but she did not come.” |
17. Dynamic Translation When news of what the queen did reaches all women, they will regard their husbands with contempt in their eyes, saying, “King Ahasuerus commanded Queen Vashti the queen to appear before him, but she refused.” |
