Esther 1:17:1כִּֽי־יֵצֵ֤אkiyetsefor will go out
Esther 1:17:2דְבַר־הַמַּלְכָּה֙devarhamalkathe matter of the queen Esther 1:17:3עַל־כָּל־הַנָּשִׁ֔יםalkolhanashimto all the women Esther 1:17:4לְהַבְז֥וֹתlehavzotto cause to despise Esther 1:17:5בַּעְלֵיהֶ֖ןbalehemtheir husbands Esther 1:17:6בְּעֵינֵיהֶ֑ןbeenehemin their eyes Esther 1:17:7בְּאָמְרָ֗םbeomramwhen they say Esther 1:17:8הַמֶּ֣לֶךְhamelekhthe king Esther 1:17:9אֲחַשְׁוֵר֡וֹשׁakhashveroshAhasuerus Esther 1:17:10אָמַ֞רamarsaid Esther 1:17:11לְהָבִ֨יאlehavito bring Esther 1:17:12אֶת־וַשְׁתִּ֧יetvashetiVashti Esther 1:17:13הַמַּלְכָּ֛הhamalkathe queen Esther 1:17:14לְפָנָ֖יוlefanavbefore him Esther 1:17:15וְלֹא־בָֽאָה׃velobaand she did not come
17. Formal Translation
When the queen’s deed is proclaimed to all women, they will despise their husbands in their sight when it is reported, “King Ahasuerus ordered Queen Vashti the queen to be brought before him, but she did not come.”
17. Dynamic Translation
When news of what the queen did reaches all women, they will regard their husbands with contempt in their eyes, saying, “King Ahasuerus commanded Queen Vashti the queen to appear before him, but she refused.”
