13. Formal Translation And letters were dispatched by the hand of the couriers to all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate every Jew, from youth to the elderly, children and women, in one day, on the thirteenth of the twelfth month—the month of Adar—and to plunder their goods. |
13. Dynamic Translation Written notices were delivered by runners to every province of the king, decreeing that all Jews—young and old, children and women—be wiped out, killed, and destroyed on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, Adar, and that their possessions be seized as spoil. |
