12. Formal Translation And the king’s scribes were summoned in the first month, on the thirteenth day in it, and it was written according to all that Haman commanded to the satraps of the king and to the governors who were over each province, and to the princes of every people—province by province in its own script, and people by people in its own language. In the name of King Ahasuerus it was written and sealed with the king’s signet ring. |
12. Dynamic Translation So the king’s secretaries were gathered in the first month, on the thirteenth day, and everything Haman ordered was recorded for the satraps of the king, the governors over each province, and the leaders of every nation—each province in its own writing system, each people in its own language. Everything was written in the name of King Ahasuerus and sealed with his royal ring. |
