Esther 3:4:1וַיְהִ֗יvayehiand it happened

4. Formal Translation
It came about when they spoke to him day after day and he did not listen to them, that they reported the matter to Haman to determine whether Mordecai’s words would stand, for he had told them that he was a Jew.
4. Dynamic Translation
Day after day they approached him, but he refused to listen, so they reported the matter to Haman to see whether Mordecai’s stance would be tolerated, because he had told them he was Jewish.
