5. Formal Translation She said, “If it is pleasing to the king, and if I have found favor before him, and if this matter is fitting before the king, and I am good in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters of Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite—letters he wrote in order to destroy the Jews in all the king’s provinces.” |
5. Dynamic Translation She said, “If this seems good to the king, and if you are pleased with me, and if it appears right to you, and if I am valued in your sight, please command that the letters with Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite’s plan be overturned, the letters he sent to wipe out the Jews throughout all your provinces.” |
