12. Formal Translation The king said to Esther the queen, “In Shushan the citadel, the Jews have killed and destroyed five hundred men and the ten sons of Haman. What, then, have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? What is your petition? It will be given to you. What is your further request? It also will be carried out.” |
12. Dynamic Translation The king said to Queen Esther, “Here in the stronghold of Susa, the Jews have killed and destroyed five hundred men and the ten sons of Haman. What have they done in the other royal provinces? What is your request? It will be granted to you, and anything else you ask will be carried out.” |
