Inside the quotation, the Qal imperative ḥădāl minnēnû {חֲדַל מִמֶּנּוּ} “cease from us” and the vav-cohortative vē-nāʿăvdāh ʾet-miṭsrāyim {וְנַעַבְדָה אֶת־מִצְרָיִם} “and let us serve the Egyptians” express urgent complaint.
