| 6. Formal Translation Then his master shall bring him before God, and bring him to the door or to the doorpost; and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl, and he shall serve him forever. |
| 6. Dynamic Translation After that, his master must take him before God and bring him to the door or the doorpost. There his master will drive an awl through his ear, and he will belong to his service for life. |
