Formal Translation And the people saw that Moses was delayed in coming down from the mountain, and they assembled around Aaron and said to him, “Arise, make for us gods who will go before us, for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” |
| 1. Dynamic Translation When the people saw that Moses was taking a long time coming down from the mountain, they crowded around Aaron and said, “Come on, make gods for us who will lead us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us out of Egypt, we have no idea what has happened to him.” |
