Exegesis

Two successive relative clauses asher bazah et-alato {אֲשֶׁר בָּזָה אֶת־אָ֣לָתוֹ | ă·šer bā-zāh ʾet-ʾā-lā-ṯô} and wa-ăšer hefer et-berito {וַאֲשֶׁר הֵפֵר אֶת־בְּרִית֑וֹ | wa-ʾă·šer hē-pêr ʾet-bə-rî-ṯô} supply the reasons, employing perfect verbs to depict covenant violations.
