The negator lo {לֹא | lōʾ} precedes the imperfect verb ekhpots {אֶחְפֹּץ | ʾeḥ-pōṣ} ‘I desire,’ resulting in a strong negative volition regarding bemot {בְּמ֣וֹת | bə-mōṯ} ‘death’ and hamet {הַמֵּת | ham-mêṯ} ‘the dying one.’
