Exegesis

The prohibitive clause lo techallel od {לֹא תְּחַלְּלוּ עוֹד | lōʾ təḥalləlû ʿôḏ} stands alone to forbid further profanation of the name. Parallelism between be-mattoteikhem and u-ve-gilluleikhem balances gifts and idols as objects of misuse.
