2. Formal Translation Cyrus king of Persia says, “The LORD {Yahweh, Sovereign Giver} God of heaven {Elohei ha-shamayim, Celestial Ruler} has granted to me the kingdoms of the whole earth, and He has tasked me to build for Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.” |
2. Dynamic Translation Cyrus, king of Persia, announces: “The LORD {Yahweh, Universal King}, the God of heaven {Elohei ha-shamayim, Supreme Authority}, has placed the earth’s kingdoms under my rule and has appointed me to build him a temple in Jerusalem in Judah.” |
