6. Formal Translation Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God {Elohim, Worship Center} and went to the chamber of Jehohanan son of Eliashib. He went there and did not eat bread, nor did he drink water, because he was mourning over the unfaithfulness of the exile. |
6. Dynamic Translation Then Ezra stood up and left the front of the house of God {Elohim, Sacred Presence} and went into Jehohanan son of Eliashib’s room. He ate no bread and drank no water because he was mourning the wrong done by the exiles. |
