13. Formal Translation Now let it be known to the king that if this city is rebuilt and its walls are finished, tribute, custom, and toll will no longer be paid, and in the end it will harm the kings. |
13. Dynamic Translation You should know, O king, that if this city is rebuilt and its walls are restored, they will stop paying tribute, customs, and tolls, and the kings’ revenues will be diminished. |
