22. Formal Translation Because I was ashamed to ask the king for a military force and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, for we had said to the king, saying, “The hand of our God is upon all who seek Him for good, but His strength and His anger are against all who forsake Him.” |
22. Dynamic Translation I felt too ashamed to request soldiers and cavalry from the king to protect us from enemies on our journey, because we had told the king, “The hand of our God is with everyone who seeks Him for good, but His power and anger are against all who forsake Him.” |
