Genesis 24:5:1וַיֹּ֤אמֶרvayomer{And he} said
Genesis 24:5:2אֵלָיו֙elavto him Genesis 24:5:3הָעֶ֔בֶדhaevedthe servant Genesis 24:5:4אוּלַי֙ulaiperhaps Genesis 24:5:5לֹא־תֹאבֶ֣הlotovenot be willing Genesis 24:5:6הָֽאִשָּׁ֔הhaishathe woman Genesis 24:5:7לָלֶ֥כֶתlalekhetto go Genesis 24:5:8אַחֲרַ֖יakharaiafter me Genesis 24:5:9אֶל־הָאָ֣רֶץelhaaretsto the land Genesis 24:5:10הַזֹּ֑אתhazotthis Genesis 24:5:11הֶֽהָשֵׁ֤בhehashevmust Genesis 24:5:12אָשִׁיב֙ashivI bring back Genesis 24:5:13אֶת־בִּנְךָ֔etbinkhayour son Genesis 24:5:14אֶל־הָאָ֖רֶץelhaaretsto the land Genesis 24:5:15אֲשֶׁר־יָצָ֥אתָasheryatsatathat you came out Genesis 24:5:16מִשָּֽׁם׃mishamfrom there
5. Formal Translation
The servant said to him, “Perhaps the woman will not be willing to go after me to this land. Should I indeed return your son to the land from which you came out?”
5. Dynamic Translation
The servant asked him, “What if the woman is unwilling to follow me to this land? Should I take your son back to the land you left?”
