| 29. Formal Translation When the days of Israel drew near for him to die, he called his son Joseph and said to him, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, please put your hand under my thigh and deal with me in kindness and truth. Do not, please, bury me in Egypt.” |
| 29. Dynamic Translation As Israel approached death, he summoned Joseph and said, “If I have truly found favor with you, place your hand under my thigh and show me kindness and faithfulness; do not bury me in Egypt.” |
