| 4. Formal Translation They said to Pharaoh, “We have come to sojourn in the land, because your servants have no pasture for their flocks and the famine is severe in Canaan. Now therefore, please let your servants dwell in Goshen.” |
| 4. Dynamic Translation They said to Pharaoh, “We have come to live here as resident outsiders because your servants’ flocks have no pastureland, since the famine is so harsh in Canaan. So now, please let your servants stay in Goshen.” |
