Genesis 48:19:1וַיְמָאֵ֣ןvayemaen{And} {he} refused
Genesis 48:19:2אָבִ֗יוavivhis father Genesis 48:19:3וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vayomerhe said Genesis 48:19:4יָדַ֤עְתִּֽיyadatiI know Genesis 48:19:5בְנִי֙benimy son Genesis 48:19:6יָדַ֔עְתִּיyadatiI know Genesis 48:19:7גַּם־ה֥וּאgamhuhe also Genesis 48:19:8יִֽהְיֶה־לְּעָ֖םyihyehleamwill become a people Genesis 48:19:9וְגַם־ה֣וּאvegamhuand he also Genesis 48:19:10יִגְדָּ֑לyigdalwill become great Genesis 48:19:11וְאוּלָ֗םveulamhowever Genesis 48:19:12אָחִ֤יוakhivhis brother Genesis 48:19:13הַקָּטֹן֙hakatonthe younger Genesis 48:19:14יִגְדַּ֣לyigdalwill be greater Genesis 48:19:15מִמֶּ֔נּוּmimennuthan him Genesis 48:19:16וְזַרְע֖וֹvezaroand his offspring Genesis 48:19:17יִהְיֶ֥הyihyehwill be Genesis 48:19:18מְלֹֽא־הַגּוֹיִֽם׃melohagoyimfullness of the nations
19. Formal Translation
But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also will become a people, and he also will be great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a fullness of nations.”
19. Dynamic Translation
But his father would not agree and said, “I know, my boy, I understand. He will also become a people and grow strong, but his little brother will surpass him, and his children will grow into a multitude of nations.”
