| 20. Formal Translation And he blessed them on that day and said, “By you Israel will bless, saying, ‘May God {Elohim, Blessing Giver} make you like Ephraim and like Manasseh.’ ” Thus he set Ephraim before Manasseh. |
| 20. Dynamic Translation He gave them his blessing that day and said, “With you as the example, Israel will bless others, saying, ‘May God {Elohim, Source of Favor} make you like Ephraim and Manasseh.’ ” So he put Ephraim ahead of Manasseh. |
