Habakkuk 1:4:1עַל־כֵּן֙alkentherefore
Habakkuk 1:4:2תָּפ֣וּגtafuggrows numb or becomes slack Habakkuk 1:4:3תּוֹרָ֔הtoralaw or instruction Habakkuk 1:4:4וְלֹֽא־יֵצֵ֥אveloyetseand does not go out Habakkuk 1:4:5לָנֶ֖צַחlanetsakhforever or perpetually Habakkuk 1:4:6מִשְׁפָּ֑טmishpatjustice or judgment Habakkuk 1:4:7כִּ֤יkifor or because Habakkuk 1:4:8רָשָׁע֙rashawicked person Habakkuk 1:4:9מַכְתִּ֣ירmaktirsurrounds or encircles Habakkuk 1:4:10אֶת־הַצַּדִּ֔יקethatsadikthe righteous one Habakkuk 1:4:11עַל־כֵּ֛ןalkentherefore Habakkuk 1:4:12יֵצֵ֥אyetsegoes out or comes forth Habakkuk 1:4:13מִשְׁפָּ֖טmishpatjustice or judgment Habakkuk 1:4:14מְעֻקָּֽל׃meukaltwisted or perverted
4. Formal Translation
So the law grows numb, and justice is never issued as it should be; the wicked hem in the righteous, and the verdict comes out perverted.
4. Dynamic Translation
This is why the law has become powerless and fair judgment never breaks through; with the wicked surrounding the righteous, justice comes out distorted.
