6. Formal Translation You have sown much but gather little; you eat but have not enough to satisfy; you drink but do not reach fullness; you clothe yourselves but have no warmth; and the one earning wages earns them only to put into a bag with holes. |
6. Dynamic Translation You plant extensively but harvest only a little; you eat yet never have enough; you drink yet never fully satisfy yourself; you put on clothes yet remain cold; and the wage earner collects pay only to deposit it into a purse with holes. |
