12. Formal Translation My people seek a verdict from their wood, and their staff declares it to them; because a spirit of whoredoms has led them astray, and they have gone whoring from under their God {Elohim, Covenant Protector}. |
12. Dynamic Translation My people consult a wooden idol for direction, and their staff gives them an answer; because a spirit of unfaithfulness has deceived them, and they have gone whoring, breaking away from under their God {Elohim, Faithful Husband}. |
