Isaiah 16:14:1וְעַתָּ֗הveataand now
Isaiah 16:14:2דִּבֶּ֣רdiberhas spoken Isaiah 16:14:3יְהוָה֮yahwehthe LORD Isaiah 16:14:4לֵאמֹר֒lemorsaying Isaiah 16:14:5בְּשָׁלֹ֤שׁbeshaloshin three Isaiah 16:14:6שָׁנִים֙shanimyears Isaiah 16:14:7כִּשְׁנֵ֣יkishnelike the years of Isaiah 16:14:8שָׂכִ֔ירsakhira hired worker Isaiah 16:14:9וְנִקְלָה֙veniklaand will be despised Isaiah 16:14:10כְּב֣וֹדkevodthe glory of Isaiah 16:14:11מוֹאָ֔בmoavMoab Isaiah 16:14:12בְּכֹ֖לbekholin all Isaiah 16:14:13הֶהָמ֣וֹןhehamonthe multitude Isaiah 16:14:14הָרָ֑בharavthe great Isaiah 16:14:15וּשְׁאָ֥רushearand a remnant of Isaiah 16:14:16מְעַ֛טmeatfew Isaiah 16:14:17מִזְעָ֖רmizarvery small or very little Isaiah 16:14:18ל֥וֹאlonot Isaiah 16:14:19כַבִּֽיר׃סkabirmighty or strong
14. Formal Translation
And now the LORD {Yahweh, Sovereign Speaker} has spoken, saying, “Within three years, as the years of a hired worker, the glory of Moab will be brought into contempt among all that great multitude, and the remnant will be very small, not mighty.”
14. Dynamic Translation
So now the LORD {Yahweh, Supreme Decider} says, “In just three years, measured like the years of a hired worker, the splendor of Moab will be despised, and its vast throng will shrink to only a few survivors—weak and powerless.”
