Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Isaiah 5:25:1 ⧉עַל־כֵּ֡ןalkentherefore Isaiah 5:25:2 ⧉חָרָה֩kharaburned or was kindled Isaiah 5:25:3 ⧉אַף־יְהוָ֨הafyahwehthe anger of the LORD Isaiah 5:25:4 ⧉בְּעַמּ֜וֹbeammoagainst his people Isaiah 5:25:5 ⧉וַיֵּ֣טvayetand he stretched out Isaiah 5:25:6 ⧉יָד֧וֹyadohis hand Isaiah 5:25:7 ⧉עָלָ֣יוalavagainst him or against it Isaiah 5:25:8 ⧉וַיַּכֵּ֗הוּvayakkehuand he struck him Isaiah 5:25:9 ⧉וַֽיִּרְגְּזוּ֙vayirgezuand they trembled Isaiah 5:25:10 ⧉הֶֽהָרִ֔יםheharimthe mountains Isaiah 5:25:11 ⧉וַתְּהִ֧יvatehiand it became or and it was Isaiah 5:25:12 ⧉נִבְלָתָ֛םnivlatamtheir corpse or their dead body Isaiah 5:25:13 ⧉כַּסּוּחָ֖הkasukhalike refuse or like swept-away matter Isaiah 5:25:14 ⧉בְּקֶ֣רֶבbekerevin the midst of Isaiah 5:25:15 ⧉חוּצ֑וֹתkhutsotstreets or outside places Isaiah 5:25:16 ⧉בְּכָל־זֹאת֙bekholzotin all this Isaiah 5:25:17 ⧉לֹא־שָׁ֣בloshavhas not turned back Isaiah 5:25:18 ⧉אַפּ֔וֹapohis anger Isaiah 5:25:19 ⧉וְע֖וֹדveodand still Isaiah 5:25:20 ⧉יָד֥וֹyadohis hand Isaiah 5:25:21 ⧉נְטוּיָֽה׃netuyastretched out |
25. Formal Translation Therefore the anger of the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Judge} was kindled against His people, and He stretched out His hand over them and struck them, and the mountains trembled, and their corpses became like refuse in the midst of the streets. In all this, His anger has not turned back, and His hand is still outstretched. |
25. Dynamic Translation So the LORD became angry with His people and raised His hand against them; He struck them, and the mountains shook, leaving their bodies like trash scattered in the streets. Yet even after all this, His hand is still outstretched. |
