19. Formal Translation And when they say to you, “Consult the mediums and the spiritists—the ones who chirp and who mutter—should not a people seek their God {Elohim, Divine Guide}? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?” |
19. Dynamic Translation When they tell you, “Go to the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mumble,” you must ask: Should not a nation inquire of its God {Elohim, Living Counselor}? Why seek the dead rather than the living? |
