Exegesis
The verse opens with the simile introduced by ki ka’asher {כִּי כַּאֲשֶׁר | kî ka-ʾă-šer}, comparing the physical attachment of the girdle ha’ezor {הָאֵז֜וֹר | hā-ʾē-zōr} around the loins motneiish {מָתְנֵי־אִ֗ישׁ | mot-nê-ʾîš} to God’s purpose in making His people adhere to Him.
In context — Jeremiah 13:11
"For just as the girdle clings to the loins of a man, so I caused to cling to Me all the house of Israel and all the house of Judah," declares the LORD , "to become for Me a people, and for a name, and for praise, and for glory; but they would not listen ."
