The causal clause al asher azvu avoteikhem oti {עַל אֲשֶׁר־עָזְבוּ אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם אוֹתִי | ʿal ʾă-šer ʿā-zə-ḇû ʾă-ḇō-ṯê-ḵem ʾô-tî} ‘because your fathers forsook me’ establishes the basis for judgment.
