| 11. Formal Translation Like a partridge that broods but does not hatch, so is one who amasses riches without justice; in the middle of his days they will leave him, and at his end he will be a fool. |
| 11. Dynamic Translation Just as a partridge sits on eggs but fails to hatch them, so is someone who gains wealth without justice; halfway through his life it will leave him, and in the end he will prove to be a fool. |
