Exegesis

The next wayyiqtol sequence vayyaamod bachatzar beit-YHWH {וַיַּעֲמֹד בַּחֲצַר בֵּית־יְהוָה | wa-ya-ʿă-mōḏ ba-ḥa-ṣar bēt-Yə-hō-wāh} transitions to the public setting of Jeremiah’s address. The Hebrew order (VSO) is rendered in fluid English (SVO) while retaining the two coordinated actions “came” and “stood,” linked by explicit temporal markers. The construct chain beit-YHWH ‘house of the LORD’ and the use of lehinave infinitive capture the link between divine activity and prophetic proclamation.
